POSITION: RN First Assist, Operating Room
POSITION SUMMARY: The Registered Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning for the care of the patient. The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for the planning, directing, and provision of nursing care to patients in accordance with the N.H. Nurse Practice Act, recognized nursing techniques, and both clinical and administrative policies. The Registered Nurse functions in the role of Registered Nurse First Assistant after meeting credentialing criteria and carries out functions that will assist the surgeon in performing a safe operation with optimal results for the patient. The RNFA practices under the supervision of the surgeon during the first assisting phase of the intraoperative role. The RNFA does not function concurrently as a scrub/circulator during the RNFA component of surgical patient care. The RNFA also functions when not first assisting in the RN perioperative role.
Additional Information about our Operating Room:
1-3 years of RN experience in a surgical services setting preferred.
